Giselle Vargas, mentee
Giselle Alexa Vargas. I consider myself a writer because of my ability to gather all my thoughts and express myself. I'm undecided on what genre I would like to focus on. My goal as a writer is to stop my run on sentences and decide what genre I would like to write. My work has not been published, featured or preformed anywhere.. YET! I also like to read and listen to music. :]
Pamela Osbey, mentor
I am a screenwriter and playwright, and a member of the first graduating class of the Actors Studio MFA Program. I also received the Walt Disney Studios/ABC Screenwriting Fellowship. My screenplay "Everything's Going To Be Alright” was nominated for the Emerging Narrative Award from the IFP Market Conference. My plays have received productions in New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles. I am a multiple Heidemann Award Nominee from the Actors Theatre of Louisville, and a recipient of the Walter E. Dakin Fellowship from the Sewanee Writers Conference. My play "Steve" is published in Smith & Kraus' The Best 10 Minute Plays. Currently, I am working on a full-length play, “The Ghost Heart,” as well as the screenplay versions for “Steve” and “Carl,” which recently played on Earbud Theatre as a radio play.
Here is Giselle's final piece for the Girls Write Now Digital Mentorship Program's Digital Exhibition, WRITE | CODE | SPEAK.
